Associative Trails

iPad developers based in Kent

We develop and maintain iPad applications for clients based in Kent and London.

We can help out during all the stages of iPad application development - from strategy, requirements capture, paper/html prototyping, specification, information architecture and usability; to server and client side development, accessibility, data hosting and deployment via the Apple App store.

An iPad application development project will include some or all of the following steps:

1. Kickoff

Initial discussions about the goals of your iPad application, who the intended audience is, whether you want to charge for it, etc. From our base in Ramsgate, the high-speed rail link gets us to anywhere in Kent or London in double-quick time.

2. Proposal

We write a proposal document, sketching out general ideas for the iPad application and estimating costs and timescales.

3. Contract

We sign a contract (between client and developer) to ensure all parties know their responsibilities and what is expected of them. We also provide a project programme setting out key stages and deliverables.

We often like to use a secure extranet to improve communications during the project and will provide a project programme setting out key stages and deliverables.

4. Prototype

A paper prototype is a quick and efficient way of working out the key views and important workflows of the iPad application.

Sometimes, that is followed by rapid development of an HTML prototype application.

5. Written specification

If the project would benefit, we will also provide a written functional specification document.

6. Development

Once the prototype and functional specification are signed off, we retreat to our Kent-based lair to develop the iPad application. We provide regular progress updates during this stage. Clients often use this stage to get the full set of content together for their iPad application.

7. Testing

When it is ready, we distribute the iPad application to key client stakeholders for testing. The process for distributing test applications can be a little complicated, but we are always available to help.

8. Launch

When everyone is happy with the application, we publish it on the Apple App store.

9. Ongoing support

We provide ongoing access to application metrics, allowing clients to see how many people have downloaded the iPad application, user ratings, etc.
